10 Essentials: Si
Inspired by GQ, we bring you 10 favorite things from each of the members in the house. For our first installment, we ask Si what things he can't live without in Saigon.
1. Alternative Apparel Tees
I'm all about casual and comfortability for fashion, and nothing beats these tees. Made from organic cotton, its extremely breathable so it's perfect to wear when braving the Saigon summer heat.
2. Super Wayfarer Sunglasses
You're never catch me in the daytime without my blue sunglasses. Not only is it good protection against the sun and the dust while I'm driving, but it's great when I need to gawk at a girl.
3. American Trojan Ecstasy Condoms
Asian guys are assumed to have small penises, so their condoms are manufactured tiny. So unless you want your dick strangled while having sex, you have to buy the international condoms. My friend brought me over a Costco family pack of these a while back, and now I'm a loyal customer.
4. Words With Friends
I love games and competition. This game's a great time killer and I get the added bonus of bragging rights when I beat my friends. Play against me: "SiHuynh"
5. Weekly Pickup Basketball
I don't have a job, so I usually don't have any set schedule. The only thing set in stone is that we play basketballs on Thursdays and Sundays. Otherwise, I wouldn't even know what day it is.
6. Carl's Jr
I'm a sucker for fast food. Back home, Carl's Jr was my favorite fast food joint after In and Out. So when I heard they were opening in Saigon, I did a backflip in my head. I go here at least twice a week, never ordering anything besides a Superstar combo. David and Shawn swears by the vanilla ice cream.
7. Dai Nam Massages
I play a lot of sports, so I get sore quickly. Everyone has their favorite massage spot. This is mine for various reasons. Besides the back breaking massages, this has one of the better facilities in Saigon. I would come here just to go to the sauna and cold pool.
8. Winston
He's my best friend. Nothing more to say.
9. Bootleg TV Series
Like I said, I don't have a job, so I've got to find a way to kill 16 hours a day. Back home, I'd DVR everything series and lie on the bed and watch TV every night. You can't really do that here because television sucks here. So one of my favorite time of the year is the end of May when all the series ends and bootleg copies come out. I load up on all my shows and spend the next couple months shacked up in my room.
10. Gravity Bong
Gotta give Andy Vu props for this one. My sleeping aid, among other things.
